Remove the application icons in the taskbar
Select Windows 7 taskbar in the lower left corner and move your mouse over the application to display the titles. Some titles may refer to applications that have already opened, while others are clear, such as Internet Explorer and other browsers.
Right-click on each icon for the application you want to delete from the task bar and select "uninstall this program from taskbar." It will remove the icon.
